Murtco has over 30 years of experience providing and managing nuclear and radiological facility new construction and maintenance services for existing plant infrastructure for facilities regulated by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) or the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). This expertise includes, but is not limited to, civil, concrete, structural steel, mechanical piping, welding, testing and monitoring, underground utilities, and HVAC.

Murtco’s dedication to the nuclear community is demonstrated by our commitment to having a robust ASME NQA-1 Quality Assurance Program which is compliant with 10CFR50 Appendix B and 10CFR830 Subpart A; and DOE’s Integrated Safety Management System. Our nuclear safety culture incorporates the requirements of these programs throughout Murtco’s Project Management Team, Safety Manager, Quality Assurance Manager and every person in our field crews.

NUCLEAR QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM (QAP)

Murtco’s nuclear quality assurance program (QAP) implements the requirements of 10CFR 50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1 Editions 2008 – 2015, and 10CFR830 Subpart A (DOE O 414.1D and E).

Our program is routinely audited by our nuclear customers and approved for quality level (QL) 1 and QL 2 nuclear facility construction and maintenance services. Customers include Pantex, Paducah/Portsmouth project sites, and the Global Laser Enrichment facility.

The Murtco QAP is administered by a core staff of quality professionals who are experienced in all aspects of quality assurance and quality control system management and inspection for nuclear facility construction and maintenance services. Murtco’s corporate QA manager oversees program activities and development, including the internal audit program and approval of suppliers for quality level items and services. Murtco’s QAP ensures that projects are performed in accordance with customer contract procurement requirements and applicable regulatory and/or industry requirements.
